The Pacific Chamber Players was formed in 2001. It consists of members of the former Suncoast Sinfonia, who enjoy playing quality music together in a smaller ensemble.
Two of the founding members were Deborah Tetley, flautist, and her partner Ronald Webb, oboist: both superb musicians. Unfortunately, Deborah succumbed to cancer and passed away in 2003. She is missed greatly for her strength and passion for music, for not only did Deborah hold a Bachelor of Music majoring in flute and an Associate Diploma in Piano, she also held a Bachelor of Science (Honours). Deborah gave away her Doctoral studies in biochemistry to follow her heart.
In response to a special request of Deborah’s the Pacific Chamber Players hold a series of three concerts each year at St Peter's Catholic Church Coolum, Caloundra Uniting Church and Cooran Memorial Hall. 2013 saw the ensemble include a very successful Baroque programme into their schedule. These concerts are normally held at Cooroy Butter Factory and Eudlo Hall, but please check the season page. Part of the proceeds from all concerts has been donated to Cancer Research and, from 2016, to a very worthy local cause: Bloomhill Cancer Care.
Since 2010 the Pacific Chamber Players have also been privileged to be involved in fund-raising concerts organised by St Andrew’s Anglican Church Caloundra to support Mission Watoto Australia and the Bush Ministry Fund. These concerts are in a lighter vein presenting the best of British and Viennese music.
Members of the group are available to play for special occasions such as weddings (click on the "Hire" link above). All functions and styles of music are catered for and for something quite unique we have an authentic harpsichord available to create a true period ambiance.
